Question:

What is a sweetmeat?

Answer:

A sweetmeat is usually a flat small deep flared dish with two handles, usually 5 to 6 inches in diameter. The sweetmeat in the Baroque pattern by Fostoria is 6 inches but on a tall stem. It is designed to hold sweet delicacies such as candied fruit, sugar-covered nuts, bonbons, etc.
